q Objective—to be able to teach, or review a topic that we have learned throughout the course of this year. q Design—In groups of two to three, complete one of the following types of projects on an approved topic. In other words pick one item from column A, and one from column B. q The final product of your project will be worth 50 points (Please Consult the Rubric for your project to make sure you are earning the points), and daily logs for work completed each day the project is worked on will be worth 5 points each for 7 days = 35 points. Total = 85 points!

PRICE COMPARISON You can choose to compare prices of a different product, with approval from Ms. Riley or Mrs. Worrell. ·Decide on a phone and a number of minutes. Research the cost of both the phone, and the plan from two different companies. ·Create two equations that represent the cost from two different companies ·Solve the system of equations (determine at what month one company becomes a “better deal”) ·Create a graph using excel ·Create a PowerPoint presentation that includes the following (in at least 5 slides) oAn introduction: what is your phone, your plan, your two companies, etc. oThe two equations you created with explanation oSolution of the two equations oA graph of cost (y) vs. months (x) oWhich company you would choose and why? (you can consider other factors, as long as you explain your answer) ·Present your findings to the class CELL PHONE PROJECT ORThe cell phone project uses systems of equations to solve the real world problem of which cell phone company is providing the better deal.In pairs, you will compare the price of the same product (phone), and plan (number of minutes) for two different companies. You can choose to compare prices of a different product, with approval from Ms. Riley or Mrs. Worrell. Parallel & Perpendicular lines
We should all know by now the geometric properties of Parallel and Perpendicular lines, but today we are going to explore the algebraic properties of each using : GeoGebra
1. Right click on the GeoGebra link above, and choose to "open in new tab"
2. Go to the tab, and click on the blue "Start GeoGebra"
3. On the next screen click the button :
GeoGebra WebStart
4. Follow the instructions on your Parallel & Perpendicular lines; Algebraic Properties Worksheet and complete the assignment
Objective: To find pictures that represent the variety of different slopes that exist in real life. To calculate the slopes of the various items, and present them in a PowerPoint.
